ABOUT

About Us

The Food Allergy Immunotherapy Centre aims to provide patient centred and responsive care, backed up by the highest safety standards and supported by the most experienced clinicians.

The driver for this new development was the licensing of PALFORZIA in 2020, both by American and European medicine regulators. This marked the formal approval of desensitisation as a treatment for peanut allergy, finally meaning that patients could do more to protect themselves than simply avoiding peanut. Despite rigorous clinical trial data, these treatments are still in their early days outside of the research setting and we wanted to ensure that patients had access to them in the safest possible way. For this reason we have decided to partner with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, who have unrivalled facilities for the safe administration of PALFORZIA and other allergen administration, right in the centre of London.

Desensitisation for food is not a cure, nor is it for everybody, but if it is right for you and your family, then we aim to make the journey through it as safe and well supported as possible. We offer a highly responsive admin team to try and minimise the impact of regular visits on day to day life as well as a Professorial led helpline, to answer any queries before the next dose of treatment is required.

Professors Gideon Lack, Adam Fox and George du Toit are internationally recognised as leaders in the field of Paediatric Allergy and have worked closely together since they set up what is now the largest specialist allergy service in the UK at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. They are renowned both for their research achievements and clinical excellence.

Testimonials

Here’s what our patients have to say…

Each member of the team that we dealt with, whether medical or support staff, were excellent.

The support has been excellent throughout.

We had a clear plan from early in the process and managed to follow through with only a couple of amendments (which we made).

We have been impressed and very grateful for the speed at which our queries have been responded to.

Parents of Isaac, age 9, Isle of Wight

Excellent. All of the team were very efficient and we found the chart with the dates and dosage for the updosing appointments particularly helpful.

The team were easy to reach, including direct contact with the consultants, even at the weekend and over holiday periods.

The overall experience was excellent.
